Leonard and Easter Carter will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. with a candlelight dinner with family and loved ones in Duncanville, hosted by their children.
Easter Green Carter was born in Timothy, and has lived in Corsicana since 1951. Leonard Carter was born in Gilmer, and has also lived in Corsicana since 1951.
Leonard retired from Oil City Iron Works after 30 years of service. Easter was employed at Haggar Slacks for 18 years, and was also employed 15 years at Navarro Regional Hospital.
The couple has successfully raised and educated four children and daughter-in-law, sending all five children to educational institutions. All of the children completed their education goals.
The couple are members of Wilgo Baptist Church and serve the Lord as Deacon and Deaconess. They have a combined attendance at Wilgo of almost 60 years.
Easter enjoys shopping and traveling, while Leonard enjoys watching sports, keeping current on world events, and fishing.
Their children are Adolphus Ray Green of Duncanville, Lonnie Ray Carter of Corsicana, Jacqueline Denise Carter of McKinney, Larry Eugene Carter of Dallas. The couple also has three grandchildren.
