On Aug. 5, 1954 on a warm, sunny day in Bremen, Germany, Anna Marie and a girlfriend were walking down the street, and luck, oh luck, David drove by in an Army truck. He blew the horn and the girls waved. David came back and that is how the saga began. Anna finally got a visa to come to the states and flew to San Francisco on March 11, 1957. The couple drove to Reno, Nevada and married March 12, 1957. They celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary March 12, 2012.

Anna and David finished 22 years in the Army, then moved to Corsicana, where they built a house with their own hands. David worked 17 years in the hospital. The couple was blessed with one son, Andre, who resides in Tyler.

  Mr. and Mrs. Orville Shelton of Garland recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
  Orville and Maudine Phelps were married May 2, 1953. Both are graduates of Corsicana High School. They have lived in the Dallas area 56 years.

  Dalton (Sonny) and Doris Miller married in Edgewater, CO., on Aug. 30, 1952.  During their 60 years of marriage, the couple continue to create countless cherished memories with their three daughters — Denice, Deana, and Darcel — their sons-in-law, and more than 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
