Rex and Kay Peddy celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 18, 2011, with an afternoon buffet for family and friends at Kinsloe House. Their sons and their wives, Jack and Michelle, and David and Carey, and Kay’s sister, Myrna Sanders, hosted the event.

Jack welcomed the guests and recognized those present who were in their wedding party and guests that had attended the wedding in Doniphan, Mo. in 1961. Highlights of Rex and Kay’s lives for the past 50-plus years were shown with a video, prepared by Jack and narrated by Myrna. Their wedding songs were beautifully presented by Vicki Trimble, soloist, and by Annett Reid, pianist. The afternoon concluded with their son, David, having a few remarks and then asking the Rev. Danny Reeves, pastor of First Baptist Church, to have prayer.

Rex is a 1953 graduate of Corsicana High School, and Kay is a native Missourian. The Peddys became permanent residents of Corsicana in 1985 and have been actively involved in their church and community. Rex retired from Mobil Pipeline Company in 1993 with 36 years of service.

Both of their sons and families live in Keller, and Kay’s sister resides in Missouri. Rex and Kay are the proud grandparents of Mikayla, age 14, and Jacob, 5 years of age.
