Corsicana —
Tom and Winona Childress of Whitney celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary recently at a small celebration at Joe T. Garcia’s in Fort Worth with family and friends on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011.
Tom and the former Winona Gorman met in 1954 at the Jester Park Pool and were high school sweethearts. They were married on Nov. 4, 1961 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Corsicana. Tom is the son of the late James Wesley Childress and the late Mrs. Muriel Lee Tate, and grandson of the late Mrs. Jennie Martin Tilton. Winona is the daughter of the late Mr. Jessie Albert Gorman and the late Mrs. Juanita Mitcham. All were Corsicana natives.
They have two sons, John and wife Tina of Colleyville and son Tim of Arlington. They are also the proud grandparents of Payton and Miles Childress.
Former Arlington residents for over 40 years, the couple moved to Lake Whitney in 1999. Tom retired from Midland Foods where he was a salesman for over 20 years where he negotiated international sales into Mexico. Both are active members of the White Bluff community where Tom enjoys golf and Winona is active in the local DAR chapter.
The couple also enjoys traveling to Ruidoso, N.M. and visiting their children and grandchildren.

Moore 50th Anniversary
Kenneth and Gladys Moore of Tomball, formerly of Corsicana, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an outdoor dinner party at the home of Dr. Keith Moore and family in Crosby on Saturday, April 28, 2012. They were married on April 20, 1962 in Rosehill. Kenneth was a teacher and coach in Corsicana for 23 years and Gladys was an elementary teacher.

Billy Don and Martha Watkins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 5, 2012. They were married on May 5, 1962 at Memorial Baptist Church in Corsicana. They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Ann Watkins and Lance and Damara Watkins, and two grandsons, Grayson and Graham Watkins, all of Corsicana.

Watkins 50th Anniversary
Billy Don and Martha Watkins will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Honoring the occasion are the couple's children and grandchildren as they host a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home of their son at 1102 Woodcastle Drive in Corsicana, Texas. Friends and family are invited to join the Watkins for their celebration.

Jack and Billie met in the Fall of 1951 on a blind date. After a whirlwind romance with the imminent possibility any day of a draft notice from “Uncle Sam,” They were married by Rev. Crawford, in the church office of South Main Baptist Church, Houston, Texas on March 14, 1952. -
Fincher 50th Anniversary
Charles Fincher and Dixie Ivie eloped March 3, 1962 in Durant, Okla.
Charles is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Fincher of Corsicana. Dixie is the daughter of the late Mr. Curtis Ivie and Mary Ann Ivie of Corsicana. -
Anderson 50th Anniversary
Guy and Martha Anderson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2012. Honoring the occasion are the couple's children and grandchildren as they host a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Assembly Center at First Baptist Church Ponca City, Oklahoma. Friends and famlly are invited to join the Andersons for their celebration.
