Wright 60th Anniversary

J.D. and Betty Wright celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with their family at the Old Mexican Inn on July 27, 2011. Mr. and Mrs. Wright were married July 27, 1951 by Bro. Goodman at his home on North Beaton in Corsicana. Their attendants were Herbert Slaughter, brother of the bride, and Ginna Rae Lewis, school friend of the bride. At the time of their marriage, Mr. Wright worked for Coffield-Guthrie Oil Co. and Mrs. Wright worked at McClellan’s Variety Store on Beaton St.

The Wrights have two daughters, Pam and husband Johnny Allen, and Donna and husband James Marrs. They also have four grandchildren, Angie and Joey White, Taylor, Luke and Lauren Marrs, and one great-grandson, Deacon Edward White.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright were presented with a cake that showcased their wedding picture in icing, and many well wishes.

  Mr. and Mrs. Orville Shelton of Garland recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
  Orville and Maudine Phelps were married May 2, 1953. Both are graduates of Corsicana High School. They have lived in the Dallas area 56 years.

  Dalton (Sonny) and Doris Miller married in Edgewater, CO., on Aug. 30, 1952.  During their 60 years of marriage, the couple continue to create countless cherished memories with their three daughters — Denice, Deana, and Darcel — their sons-in-law, and more than 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
