Derrick Day’s Crawfish Classic will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The shotgun starts for the Two-Man Scramble Golf Tournament at Oak Trail Golf Course. The cost is $70 per player, which includes ticket to crawfish boil at 7 p.m. at VG’s Event Pavilion, located at 301 E. Third Ave. The boil will feature live zydeco music and all-you-can-eat crawfish, sausage, and sides for $25. All proceeds will benefit the operating fund for the Derrick Days 2011 Festival. Navarro College Theatre Department will present "An Evening of One-Act Plays" at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The evening will feature a performance of three short comedies: “Impromptu” by Tad Mosel, and companion pieces “Patio/Porch” by Corsicana native Jack Heifner. The performances will be given in the Black Box Theatre in the Administration Building on the Navarro College campus. Admission is free, but donations are invited. Dr. Shellie O'Neal, chair of the Theatre Department, is director of “Impromptu” and “Porch,” and theatre adjunct faculty member Daryl R. Dawson Lions Club will hold a supper and auction fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. in the Dawson High School Cafeteria. The club invites everyone in the area to attend — charitable donations will be, for the most part, spent in the City of Dawson. The menu will include baked ham, baked beans, potato salad, peach cobbler, iced tea, and coffee, with all the trimmings. Donations will be accepted for the meal. The auction will follow the meal. Come ready to be tempted by the homemade pies and cakes as well as items donated by area merchants and craftsmen. Proceeds from the meal and auction will got to support Texas Lions Camp for physically challenged children, Lone Star Eye Bank, scholarships and eye exams, glasses for Dawson ISD students, mental health, and other local school and community projects.

Corsicana Police Officer Association asks everyone to support a raffle/fundraiser for the Officer Relief Fund. A Rock River M-4 rifle has been donated for the raffle by Jesse’s Gun Shop and Dr. Justin Pillans. The winner must be eligible to possess and purchase a gun.
