Corsicana National Bank and Trust
Corsicana National Bank & Trust will change its name to Community National Bank & Trust of Texas effective Monday, May 19, according to K.C. Wyatt, President of the bank.
Over the past 44 years, Corsicana National grew from small beginnings in Corsicana to a successful community bank serving as a lender and deposit institution. It now serves communities throughout Navarro County, and with its partnership with First National Bank of Fairfield in 2001, it also serves Freestone and Leon Counties. The Fairfield bank will be merged into Corsicana National, and the resulting bank will be named Community National. The two banks’ boards of directors will be combined.
“There is no change in ownership, management or employees,” says Wyatt. “Thanks to the support of our customers and the hard work of our dedicated employees, we have grown to serve a variety of communities. Our new name simply reflects our commitment to all of the communities we serve.”
The combined Community National Bank & Trust will offer a full range of financial services. Assets of the bank will total almost $300 million, with the bank servicing an additional $30 million in home mortgage loans. The Trust and Investment Department manages assets of over $160 million for individuals, charitable foundations, educational institutions, and businesses throughout Central Texas.
“We’re still a hometown bank that believes in investing generously in our community through local charities, schools and many other worthwhile endeavors,” added Wyatt. “Our employees will continue to be active volunteers in local organizations and work to improve life in our community.”
The bank is owned by Community Bank Holdings of Texas, Inc. based in Corsicana. It has six locations, including two in Corsicana and one each in Fairfield, Frost, Richland Chambers-Streetman and Buffalo.
