The Other Place Restaurant
Aug. 4 was the starting date of the city’s first presidential “restaurant” poll. The poll named “Fork Over Your Vote” will run through noon Nov. 2. The poll results press release will be sent out by noon each Monday until the election. All patrons will receive a jellybean as a ballot.
“As patrons finish their meals they are handed a jellybean and asked to put in a jar favoring Sen. McCain or Sen. Obama. On Nov. 3, one day before the actual election, we will accurately predict the winner of the 2008 presidential election,” said Joe Hubbard, owner of The Other Place.
The Fork Over Your Vote ‘08 poll is being conducted to draw attention to the presidential election, to get out more voters, as a fun way to get people more involved in the community and the election of their representatives. Voter registration information will be available for all patrons. All are welcome, including children to celebrate America’s democratic process. To call for hours that patrons can come in and vote, call Joe Hubbard or Hope Edwards at The Other Place Restaurant, (903) 872-5637.
