High School Soccer: Tigers split two matches
The Tigers (1-3-2) lost twice and tied one to 5A teams at the prestigious Grapevine Varsity Tournament this weekend.
On Friday, the Tigers lost to Euless Trinity, 2-0, in a game they had to play with only 10 players most of the way because of a red card.
Corsicana then fell to Cedar Hill, 2-1, on Saturday. Mario Castaneda had a goal and Alexis Bernal had an assist in the match.
In Saturday’s finale, Corsicana tied Haltom, 1-1. Sergio Ballesteros had the goal with an assist from Bernal.
The Tigers had five starters missing because of injuries.

Lady Tigers soccer: CHS girls beat Jacksonville 2-1
The Corsicana Lady Tigers won at Jacksonville on Tuesday night, 2-1.
The first goal of the game was scored by Katy Driver and assisted by Aricelia Castaneda at the 25-minute mark.
