The last scripture lay on Lyda Pearl Thompson Heinrichs' kitchen table on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, the morning she passed from this world to that which she believed in faith was next.

A long-time GTE telephone operator and gifted cook and canner, Lyda began this life in Washburn, Texas and throughout life found community in: Roswell, N.M.; Gilbert, W. Va.; Lubbock; South Williamson, Ky.; Santa Fe, N.M.; San Angelo, and Corsicana. Along the way she gave her time teaching Sunday School, serving as a Cub Scout leader, and participating in the Newcomers Club of San Angelo.

However, to her, family was priority. She was a wife to Walt Heinrichs, who preceded her in death.

She will always be “Mother” to daughter Janice and husband Rodney McLauchlin of Corsicana, son Larry and wife Betsy Musick of Dallas, son Paul and wife Jenifer of Biloxi, Miss. and son Jeff Musick of Frisco. She is endeared as “Mamaw” to grandchildren Hollie Higgins, Ryan McLauchlin, Jordan Musick, Kacey Musick, Anne Musick, David Musick, Frank Musick, Chandler Musick and Justin Musick. Her legacy continues to a fourth generation with great-granddaughters Campbell and Ellyse Higgins.

A private memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Corsicana. Interment was at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo.

Memorial donations can be made to the PCHAS Child & Family Program at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Corsicana.
