Single Believers Ministries will have its third annual conference/revival at 7:30 p.m. March 13-15 at Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1600 S. Business 45, under the leadership of Pastor Joseph and co-pastor Charlene Johnson. The theme will be “Don’t let anybody tell you what you can’t have.”
Guest pastors will be Pastor Jonathan and Evangelist Kimberly Cummings, who have been in ministry for eight years and are the proud leaders of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. They are faith-based people who walk by faith and not by sight. They both have seen God do miraculous things in other people’s lives as well as theirs. They have experienced many of life’s trials and tribulations, but the Lord delivered them out of them all. They are grateful for the favor that the Lord has placed on their lives and are excited about what God is getting ready to do.
Single Believers Ministries would like to remind people about gospel recording artist/saxophonist Dr. Vernard Johnson from Kansas City, Kan., native of Texas, performing at 7 p.m. March 29 at the Palace Theatre. Bethel AME Church family is pleased to announce that after the second quarterly conference held Feb. 24 with Grace Temple AME (Bethel’s sister church) Bethel AME Church has two exhorters. Sister Pamela Colbert and Brother Chester A. Bradley received their licenses to preach under the leadership of Pastor Ray Charles Emanuel at the local level. Emanuel is the pastor of Bethel AME Church. Presiding Elder Marshall Hobbs Sr. gave the certificates at the conference meeting.
Bethlehem Baptist Church, 409 N. Third St., where Dairy Johnson Sr. is pastor, will have a musical by the sanctuary choir at 7:45 p.m. March 7. The public is invited. At 3:30 p.m. March 9, the choir annual will be held. Special guest will be Trinity Baptist Church of Dallas and Pastor Charles Smith will be the guest speaker.
Faith Baptist Church, located at the corner of West State Highway 31 and Farm-to-Market Road 2452 (Corbet Road), invites you to come and hear Praise Incorporated at 10:30 a.m. March 16. There will be singing, preaching and “lunch on the grounds.” Sunday school will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. with the singing to begin at 10:30 a.m. and preaching will follow. The church will furnish the meat for the lunch, and you are asked to please bring a covered dish. A love offering will be taken.
Praise Inc. has become one of the fastest-rising groups in southern gospel music. Praise Inc. members have hearts for the Lord that gives them the musical excellence they strive for. They have been honored to accept invitations all over the country and they make regular guest appearances at the Grapevine Opry. They received the 2005 Horizon Group of the Year and was nominated and voted in the top five in U.S. Gospel News for Quartet of the Year and New Excelling Artist of the Year.
Praise Inc. wants audiences to have a great time, but first and foremost group members want to present the gospel through what they call “Motivatin Music.” Each member of Praise Inc. brings to the team his own unique background and abilities. Their hope is that their music has an effect on the lives of people wherever they go. It is their ministry and their commitment. They strive to keep the subject of the song, Jesus Christ, in the center stage. As Praise Inc. says, “Singers come and go, but God will never change or leave. We incorporate the praise of Jesus Christ in all that we do.”
Regular schedule of services are: Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday worship at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Bible study is held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Everyone is welcome to come and worship the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Faith Temple Ministries, North Highway 75, Fairfield, will celebrate its 15th church anniversary at 4 p.m. March 9. First Independent Baptist Church, 701 G.W. Jackson Ave. (formerly East Fifth Avenue), will celebrate its 61st ushers annual March 9. The scripture will be Psalm 84:10. The morning service will have Gailiee Baptist Church in Ennis as the guest church. The speaker will be the Rev. Booker T. Washington. The Rev. Donald Lacey is pastor of First Independent Baptist Church, and Sister Bessie Meriwether is ushers president.
Gospel Youth Revival Explosion will be held at 7 p.m. March 19-21 at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2105 E. Jones Ave., Corsicana. Greater Wilgo Baptist Church, 621 E. First Ave., will celebrate its pastor and wife, Arthur C. Faulk and Mary Faulk, in sixth appreciation services March 9. Minister Billy R. Martin of Lancaster will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m. He is a member of the Potter’s House in Dallas and Bishop T.D. Jakes is his pastor. Martin is the brother of Pastor Faulk. Special guests at 3 p.m. will be Pastor Earnest Betts and New Bethel Baptist Church of Goodlow. Betts will bring the message. You are invited to join in on this glorious occasion as love and appreciation is shown for six years of spiritual leadership, faithfulness and for the dedicated service that has been rendered by Pastor Faulk.
Harmony Baptist Church, 400 E. 12th Ave., where Bishop John Baker is pastor, will hold its annual men’s day at 3:30 p.m. March 9. Pastor James Donald and Faith Temple Pentecostal Church from Dallas will be guests. The theme for this year’s service will be “The Way of a Righteous Man” from Psalm 1:1-2. You are invited to come and fellowship in this great service. Elder Michael Williams is brotherhood president.
Life in the Word Bible Church, 1408 N. Beaton St., where Emma Jessie is pastor, will host “Resurrection for the Church” at noon March 21. Guest preachers will be Minister Branch and Pastor Sublet from Dallas. You are invited to come and worship.
Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County invites you to join in at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday for worship service. The church meets at the Navarro County Exposition Center, 4021 W. State Highway 22.
At the 10:30 a.m. March 9 service, Pastor Jarvis Smith will be ordained at Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak, 1011 E. Ovilla Road. Members are invited to attend. From 1 to 3 p.m. March 16, students in third through 12th grade will meet for bowling at Corsicana Park Lanes on Seventh Avenue. At 8:30 a.m. March 23, a communion service will be held. For children at 10 a.m., there will be pony rides and dummy roping, followed by Easter egg hunts. All children are invited to participate.
Weather permitting, team roping practice is held at 7 p.m. Mondays at Randy Springer’s arena and barrel racing practice is held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the expo arena. Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast will meet at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Lone Star Room of the Walker Dining Hall on the Navarro College campus. This meeting is open to all men in the community. United Together for the Kingdom Work of Christ will host a preach bowl service and mass choir at 7 p.m. March 21 at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, 125 S. Fifth St., where Bishop K.D. Wesley United Methodist Church, 3308 N. Beaton St., will have an old-fashioned revival at 7 p.m. March 9-11. The theme will be “God’s Amazing Grace.” The Rev. Harrell Braddock Jr. will be preach from 2 Timothy 1:3-12, Romans 3:21-31 and Colossians 3:1-17. The sermon topics will be “God’s Prevenient Grace,” “God’s Justifying Grace,” and “God’s Sanctifying Grace.” There will also be special music each night with the Wesley Choir, March 9; Heaven Bound Choir from Northside Baptist Church, March 10; and Wayne Owen, March 11. Refreshments will be served after the March 9 service. The entire community is invited to join in and prepare your hearts and minds for Holy Week and the resurrection of the Lord.
