Former Tigers football player Danieal Manning and the NFL are headed to Corsicana today.
Manning will hold the first annual Summer Sportsfest this weekend to benefit Corsicana High School athletics.
A Tigers alum, Manning played football at Abilene Christian University and currently plays safety in the NFL for the Chicago Bears.
Fellow NFL players joining Manning this weekend will be San Francisco 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown and Indianapolis Colts running back Dominic Rhodes.
Throughout the two-day event, fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and take pictures with the celebrities.
All events are open to the general public.
A celebrity bowl and silent auction will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Corsicana Bowling Lanes. Tickets for the event are available in advance for $25 and can be purchased at the door for $30.
A free kid’s football and cheerleading clinic will be held Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. for grades 1-8. The camps will be held at Tiger Stadium, with enrollment limited to a first-come basis.
Manning will also hold a Celebrity Basketball Game following the camps Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at CHS.
Advanced tickets to the game are $7 and can also be purchased at the door for $10.

GC Girls Roundup: Lady Tigers fall to Jackets, 46-29
The Corsicana Lady Tiger basketball team suffered a tough 46-29 loss Friday night to the Cleburne Lady Jackets.
Amber Ames and Tauren Kitchen led the Tigers with 14 and 9 points, but it was not enough to give the Lady Tigers a victory. -
GC Boys Roundup: Dozier, Mildred beat Rice
Mildred defeated Rice 55-28 on Friday night.
Kevin Dozier led the Eagles with 23 points while Nic Shimonek had 16 of his own to boost Mildred to a victory on Friday. -

Rice’s White, 4 from Mildred make Academic All-State
Rice middle linebacker Keith White said he’ll know sometime soon whether or not he’ll be the school’s valedictorian for the 2010 senior class.
