Hubbard falls to Abbott to snap winning streak

The Hubbard Lady Jaguars finally met their match Tuesday as Abbott handed Hubbard their first district loss, 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 28-26, 26-24, 15-13) at Jaguar Gymnasium.

The loss snapped the Lady Jaguars’ (9-6, 4-1 District 15-1A) seven game win streak.

Africa Lang led Hubbard with 10 kills. Sara Fletcher and Angel Parham each had eight kills and five service aces.

Kiona Johnson finished the night with seven kills and Kayla Kesen six kills and nine digs.

Hubbard will look to rebound at Bosqueville Saturday at 10 a.m.

Scurry Rosser 3, Rice 0: Rice lost to Scurry-Rosser in a District 14-2A match on Tuesday night, 14-25, 6-25, 9-25.

Chelsea Pate was good on four out of five digs and seven of 11 on passes.

Tori Payne converted 18 of 26 passes and she had two digs.

Rice is 7-13 and 2-4 in district.
