Sanders, Dawson squeeze past Riesel, 51-49
GOLDEN CIRCLE HOOPS: ROUNDUP
Dustin Sanders poured in 18 points as Dawson held on for a 51-49 victory over Riesel on Tuesday night in Dawson.
The Bulldogs (4-1) showed their depth once again as Cameron Johnson had nine and Nick Renfro had eight.
Dawson will open up play in the Riesel Tournament at 10 a.m. Thursday against Calvert.
Blooming Grove 72, Rio Vista 61
Darius Harris had 27 points and Jordan Tennell dished out 15 assists as Blooming Grove ripped Rio Vista, 72-61, in a battle of one-loss teams.
Blooming Grove (4-1) also got 17 points from Korey Louviere and 13 each from Scott Ackley and A.K. Chaudry.
Frost 47, Rice 33
Sam Stroder scored 18 points and Philip Page had 17 as the Frost Polar Bears blitzed Rice, 47-33, on Tuesday night.
Frost (3-1) also got eight points from Kyle Montgomery. The Polar Bears had a 38-17 lead after three quarters.
Kerens 46, Oakwood 17
Pat Faulks scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack as Kerens drilled Oakwood, 46-17, for a non-district road victory.
Eric Tolliver had eight points and Trey Lindsey had seven points for Kerens (2-0).
Girls
Rice 47, Frost 21
Alison Barker scored 10 points and Tori Payne added nine points as Rice rolled past Frost, 47-21, at Frost. Aubree Patton had 14 points for Frost (0-4).

GC Girls Roundup: Lady Tigers fall to Jackets, 46-29
The Corsicana Lady Tiger basketball team suffered a tough 46-29 loss Friday night to the Cleburne Lady Jackets.
Amber Ames and Tauren Kitchen led the Tigers with 14 and 9 points, but it was not enough to give the Lady Tigers a victory.

GC Boys Roundup: Dozier, Mildred beat Rice
Mildred defeated Rice 55-28 on Friday night.
Kevin Dozier led the Eagles with 23 points while Nic Shimonek had 16 of his own to boost Mildred to a victory on Friday.

The Corsicana Tigers boys basketball team lost a 49-48 heartbreaker to the Cleburne Yellow Jackets Friday night.
The Tigers came into the game focused and ready to take on the Yellow Jackets.

Rice’s White, 4 from Mildred make Academic All-State
Rice middle linebacker Keith White said he’ll know sometime soon whether or not he’ll be the school’s valedictorian for the 2010 senior class.
He knows for certain he’s a Class 2A Academic All-State team member.
