The Blooming Grove Lady Lions had no problem handling Rice Tuesday as they cruised to a 54-10 win.
Outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 22-2 in the first quarter, the Lady Lions stretched their lead to 28 points at halftime and outscored Rice 32-3 in the second half.
Cecilly Phillips led Blooming Grove (2-2 District 14-2A) with 20 points while Johnna Smith added 11.
Rice (12-7, 0-4) was led by Tori Payne’s five points.
Frost 29, Bynum 19
A big third quarter helped put the Frost Lady Bears in command Tuesday as Frost topped Bynum 29-19.
Ahead 13-9 at halftime, the Lady Polar Bears (6-10, 2-2 District 19-1A) shutout Bynum in the third while scoring six points.
Frost maintained its lead with each teaming scoring 10 in the fourth.
Frost’s Lisa Belcher led the Lady Polar Bears with 11 points
Wortham 57, Reicher 36
Kara Jantzen scored 24 points and the Wortham Lady Bulldogs got past Reicher 57-36 Tuesday.
Ahead 40-21 after three quarters, the Lady Bulldogs (10-6) had enough offense in the fourth, outscoring Reicher 17-15.
Ki’undrea Smith added 11 points for Wortham. Jasmine Bailey finished with seven while Cara Weempe, Anna Jones and Chey Anne Bates each finished with four.

GC Girls Roundup: Lady Tigers fall to Jackets, 46-29
The Corsicana Lady Tiger basketball team suffered a tough 46-29 loss Friday night to the Cleburne Lady Jackets.
Amber Ames and Tauren Kitchen led the Tigers with 14 and 9 points, but it was not enough to give the Lady Tigers a victory. -
GC Boys Roundup: Dozier, Mildred beat Rice
Mildred defeated Rice 55-28 on Friday night.
Kevin Dozier led the Eagles with 23 points while Nic Shimonek had 16 of his own to boost Mildred to a victory on Friday. -

Rice’s White, 4 from Mildred make Academic All-State
Rice middle linebacker Keith White said he’ll know sometime soon whether or not he’ll be the school’s valedictorian for the 2010 senior class.
