The difference: Big plays for touchdowns. Hubbard reached the end zone five times with two of the touchdowns coming off large gains. Lance McClain broke free for a 69 yard touchdown run and he passed to John Jones for a 59 yard touchdown. Both touchdowns came in the second quarter.
Standouts: Hubbard’s Lance McClain rushed for a total of 189 yards, averaging eight yards a carry. Wortham’s Chris McDaniel carried the ball 22 times for 132 yards while Jake Jones rushed 25 times for 131.
Game notes: The Jags spoiled the Bulldogs homecoming and senior night by taking the victory 32-27. Wortham’s Chris McDaniel scored two of the four touchdowns, while he rushed for a total of 132 yards. Jake Jones ended the night with 131 yards. He was able to break free for 33 and 35 yard runs, with the 33 yard run scoring a second quarter touchdown. The last touchdown on the night for Hubbard came with 6:32 minutes left in the game when Casey Jones dove in the back of the end zone for a 12 yard reception.
Stat of the game: Lance McClain capped off his senior year by scoring three of the Jags five touchdowns. His 189 yards was 67 percent of Hubbard’s total rushing yards. 113 of those yards came in the first half, including a long 69 yard touchdown run.
Records: Class 1A Hubbard is 3-7, 3-3 in District 21-1A. Class 1A Wortham is 5-5, 3-3.

The Corsicana Lady Tiger basketball team suffered a tough 46-29 loss Friday night to the Cleburne Lady Jackets.
Amber Ames and Tauren Kitchen led the Tigers with 14 and 9 points, but it was not enough to give the Lady Tigers a victory. -
