Tiger Stadium to host three playoff games
High School Football Playoffs
Tiger Stadium will once again be a busy place, and thanks to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, you can catch Friday afternoon football here this weekend.
Arlington Pantego (9-2) faces Bullard Brook Hill (11-1) in a TAPPS Division III semifinal game at 2 p.m. Friday. The teams feature players (QB Nathan Hohulin of Pantego, and WR Jeremy Chapelle of Brook Hill) who run 4.4 40s, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine.
The other two games feature East Texas powers making their return to Corsicana.
Friday night at 7:30 p.m., defending Class 3A Div. II state champion Carthage (12-0) returns to Tiger Stadium to face Caldwell (10-1).
And on Saturday, in another 2 p.m. game, preseason Class 4A No. 1 Longview (11-1) meets Carrollton Newman Smith (10-2) in a 4A Div. I battle. Longview played on Friday after Thanksgiving here last year, beating Dallas Carter before a packed house.

GC Girls Roundup: Lady Tigers fall to Jackets, 46-29
The Corsicana Lady Tiger basketball team suffered a tough 46-29 loss Friday night to the Cleburne Lady Jackets.
Amber Ames and Tauren Kitchen led the Tigers with 14 and 9 points, but it was not enough to give the Lady Tigers a victory.

GC Boys Roundup: Dozier, Mildred beat Rice
Mildred defeated Rice 55-28 on Friday night.
Kevin Dozier led the Eagles with 23 points while Nic Shimonek had 16 of his own to boost Mildred to a victory on Friday.

The Tigers took down the home team Mesquite, 3-1, on Saturday for the Silver Bracket Championship at the Mesquite Tournament.

The Corsicana Tigers boys basketball team lost a 49-48 heartbreaker to the Cleburne Yellow Jackets Friday night.
The Tigers came into the game focused and ready to take on the Yellow Jackets.

Rice’s White, 4 from Mildred make Academic All-State
Rice middle linebacker Keith White said he’ll know sometime soon whether or not he’ll be the school’s valedictorian for the 2010 senior class.
He knows for certain he’s a Class 2A Academic All-State team member.
