Storm story has happy ending
Most folks I’ve spoken with this week have their storm stories, as do I.

I talked to a slew of folks who had tree and limb damage. Some were philosophical, while others were angry. I’m not sure who there is to be angry at when it’s the weather.
Reminds me of that Persian king Xerxes, whose pontoon ships were sunk in a storm so he ordered his men to go down and beat the sea with chains and poles. It’s a waste of time and effort to get mad at weather. -

Calvert Allen Carroll
Calvert Allen Carroll, resident of Streetman, passed away at the Medical Center of McKinney on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the age of 76. He was born in Streetman to Calvert Vell and Pauline Coleman Carroll on March 24, 1936. He was a rancher in the Streetman area and attended the First Baptist Church in Streetman. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served on the Birdston Cemetery Association Board.

In the Tree House: Never cease to amaze me...
Mother’s Day is always such a special day. I hold it in the highest regards, along with birthdays. To me it is one of the two days a year that are just for me (along with my birthday). I love it so much because it is an honor to me to be a mother. I love the fact that there is a day devoted just to us moms, no matter what type of mother you are…to give thanks for all that we do the other 364 days out of the year.
