Opposes decision
To the Editor: I am 63 years old, a veteran and patriotic American citizen.
One of the reasons I served my country was to protect the separation of church and state. The county officials of Henderson County want to have the Bible as the law of the land. Not the Constitution. I intend on putting a stop to that in court.
I have already notified all of them, and the Keep Athens Beautiful committee, that if the Nativity scene is put up again on government property, I will file a lawsuit to remove it.
Thank you,
Patrick Greene
Cake lovers appreciated
To the Editor: We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone that volunteered to make our 2nd Annual Bake Sale & Designer Cake Auction a success last Friday.
We had five beautiful, custom Valentine's cakes donated by local bakers Jamie Johnson, Kathy Herron, Nonnie Farmer, Valarie Raley and Collin Street Bakery.
Also, a special thanks to all of our silent cake auction bidders, including the winners Judith Randall, Byron Cook and Lance Cook.
Together we were able to raise $1,880 for Relay for Life of Navarro County!
Sincerely,
The Community National Bank & Trust Relay for Life Team

To the Editor: Education, in my opinion, is the key to solving the problems we face in today’s world. We owe it to every child in Corsicana to provide him/her with the tools to reach their fullest potential.

Our rights in danger
To the Editor: In reference to the Corsicana Daily Sun article dated April 4, 2013, the president has already trampled on our First Amendment religious freedom, forcing people to pay for contraception and abortion — now he is tackling our Second Amendment rights. He uses children when politically expedient. -
