Breath of fresh air

To the Editor: Oh, what a breath of fresh air was at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night. Governors and senators, one after another, told how, when they took office in their states, which were millions of dollars in debt, exactly what amount the debt was, and now each one has a surplus now, that was all done without raising taxes.

Governor Christie from New Jersey, stated they were in deep debt when he took office. He cut the wasteful spending and they now also have a surplus without raising taxes a penny.

In fact all the Republican states have cleared out the debt, and the Democrat states are still in debt. That ought to tell us something.

When Ann Romney spoke, she warmed hearts of everyone, after having breast cancer, she also has MS. She was refreshing, radiant, and proud of her five sons, grandchildren, and her husband, Mitt Romney.

He would make a great president of our U.S.A. He is a great businessman, husband, father, and I believe he will not only turn around this wasteful spending, but get our country back on course. Also, return our patriotism to this wonderful land of ours, just because it's the right thing to do. He does not brag about himself, or go around saying “I” did this or that, he quietly just does the right thing.

    Our rights in danger
To the Editor: In reference to the Corsicana Daily Sun article dated April 4, 2013, the president has already trampled on our First Amendment religious freedom, forcing people to pay for contraception and abortion — now he is tackling our Second Amendment rights. He uses children when politically expedient.
