Food Pantry grateful
To the Editor: Navarro County Food Pantry Ministry wishes to thank our local Post Office, mail carriers and the people of Navarro County for the recent collection of food in their "stamp out hunger" campaign. The support of our community is so appreciated and vital to our county. Due to the recent closings of some major employers and the ongoing economic crisis, food pantries have seen a major increase in the number of people needing assistance. Our pantry is currently serving close to 1400 families a month!
Thanks also to the Keller Williams Agency, Oncor Electric , Dollar General, our local farmers and several others. All who have donated food and funds this past month. I will ask that during the summer months people continue to support the food pantry either financially or through food drives. Finances are used to purchase food from the North Texas Food Bank at a significant discount. Donations can be sent to PO Box 1263, Corsicana TX 75151.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Susan M Tyner - Executive Director
Navarro County Food Pantry

AirSho a delightful experience
My husband and I attended the Corsicana Airsho on Saturday, May 11. This was the first time for both of us to see the airsho. I would like to personally thank all those involved in truly making this a delightful experience. It was especially special because of my husband’s poor health. -

To the Editor: Education, in my opinion, is the key to solving the problems we face in today’s world. We owe it to every child in Corsicana to provide him/her with the tools to reach their fullest potential.

Our rights in danger
To the Editor: In reference to the Corsicana Daily Sun article dated April 4, 2013, the president has already trampled on our First Amendment religious freedom, forcing people to pay for contraception and abortion — now he is tackling our Second Amendment rights. He uses children when politically expedient. -
