Corsicana — Students receive degrees/named to honor lists

Sam Houston State University has released the names of students who received degrees in December. Included were: Ericka Danielle Andrews of Corsicana, Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies; Kyle D. Collins of Wortham, Master of Science degree in security studies; Haley Alisa Thedford of Rice, Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice; and Brenna Lauren York of Corsicana, Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Named to the president’s honor roll for the fall 2009 semester was Haley A. Thedford of Rice. To be eligible for the president’s honor roll, full-time undergraduate students must have a perfect grade point average of 4.0 for the semester.

Named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester were Jessica A. Byrne, Danika Darby, Michaelle E. Pelzel, Rarielle S. Starks and Amy Marie Thomas, all of Corsicana; Hannah D. Stroder of Frost; and Haley A. Thedford of Rice. To be eligible for the dean’s list, full-time students must have a grade point average of 3.5 and above for the semester.



Students receive degrees

Texas State University-San Marcos has announced that the following students were among the graduates during fall commencement ceremonies held in December. Clayton F. Acker of Corsicana received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture-animal science. Robert A. Vernon of Corsicana received a bachelor’s degree in applied sociology.



Mathis named to honor roll

Brittany Helen Mathis, interdisciplinary studies major from Corsicana, was named to the president’s honor roll at Stephen F. Austin State University for the fall 2009 semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more semester hours and maintain a grade point average of 4.0.



Murray named to dean’s list

Adrienne R. Murray, a 2007 Dawson High School graduate, was named to the dean’s list for the 2009 fall semester at Angelo State University in San Angelo. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must be enrolled full time and maintain a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
