Grant Family Reunion in August
The Grant Family Reunion will be held Aug. 11, 2012 at the W.L. Moody Civic Center in Fairfield starting at 10 a.m. This year’s event has a country and western theme, so you Cowboys and Cowgirls get ready. Edward “Bud” Grant and Carlton Grant of Streetman, and Cornelius Grant, bandleader and songwriter for the original Temptations, and minister James Blandford and Pastor Eric Grant of Lifeline Family Church and God’s Holy Temple will attend this joyous event. There will be games, swimming, dancing, a talent show and church. Family will come from California, New York, Detroit, Houston, Oklahoma, Dallas, Fort Worth, the East Coast, West Coast and Wills Point. G.W. Carver High School Alumni Reunion
The 29th Annual School Reunion of G.W. Carver High School Alumni, Dawson, Texas will be held July 27, 28 and 29.
Friday, July 27, there will be a “get acquainted” period and Memorial Service at Dawson High School.
Saturday, July 28 there will be a general meeting at St. James Methodist Church, followed by a car parade. A picnic will take place at 1 p.m., and a raffle drawing at 4 p.m. The annual banquet will be at 7 p.m. at Dawson High School. Class of 1962 is in charge of the program
Sunday, July 29 all will gather for morning worship services at The Church of a New Beginnning of Dawson, pastor Billy Simmons.
The G.W. Carver Alumni sponsors the Curtis W. Sparks Sr. Afro-American scholarship.

The Emhouse 53rd School Reunion will be held May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Taylorosa Event Center on West Hwy. 22 and FM 744 in Corsicana.
Navarro County Treasurer Frank Hull was notified of his nomination for Outstanding County Treasurer by the County Treasurer's Association of Texas (CTAT) Chairman of the Nomination Committee, Donna Kelly, Erath County Treasurer. The winner is determined by a vote of the 250 membership in May. Only five are nominated each year.

Whether you are aware of it or not, every single day of your life holds some sort of fulfilled accomplishment. We all have those days that we feel just drag on; the same monotonous routine day in and day out thinking our lives really aren’t serving a purpose to ourselves or those around us.

In the Tree House: The ‘Weirdo’ in the airport
Another Daviss adventure is under our belts. Our travel and airport experience went fairly smoothly considering we were travelling with three boys, four suitcases, a stroller and two car seats. But we did make it through everything unscathed, and returned safely.
