Blooming Grove Ex-Students Association holds reunion
The Blooming Grove Ex-Student Association Reunion was held Oct. 20, 2012 at the Blooming Grove High School Auditorium.
The honor classes recognized this year were 1952, 1962, 1972 and 1987.
Outstanding awards were also presented. They were:
Outstanding local ex-students awards presented to Joey and Paula Johnson McClure by Laurie Saunders Ledbetter.
Outstanding out-of-town ex-student was presented to Ray Ellis by Jimmy Pinales.
Outstanding ex-retired teacher awards were presented to Bonnie and Lewis Mathison by Judy Gillen Saunders.
A Special Recognition Award was presented to Odess Hollingsworth Smith by her great-granddaughter Ashley Montalvo. This award was presented to her for her dedication to the Blooming Grove Ex-Student Association as Memorial Chairman for 47 years. Odessa also celebrated her 75th year out of school as she graduated in 1937.
BG Class of 1952
The class of 1952 celebrated their 60th year anniversary from Blooming Grove High School. Those attending were Bob Russell, Robert Neal, Martha McCormick Rhodes, Rosilee Harris Maiville, Elizabeth Ellis Kitchen, Lina McGraw Winstead, Johnny Bowling, Clara Ann Barham Lynch and Gwen Barton Waldrop.
BG Class of 1960
The class of 1960 met at the home of Carolyn Armstrong Turner on Oct. 20, 2012. Graduates and classmates attending were Gerald McSpadden, Robert Ellis, Richard Hinkle, C.L. Ward, Jimmy McClure, Emma Thompson Hill, Wanda Dozier Strain, Judy Haden Baumgartner, Sis McGraw Bray, Myrtle Fay Fuller Smith, Carolyn Armstrong Turner and Joyce Weathers Haden.
BG Class of 1962
Graduates and classmates met Oct. 20, 2012 at the BG Ex-Student Association. Those celebrating their 50th year anniversary were Jimmy Haden, Ray Ellis, Jo Carolyn Owen Worsham, Jim Nicholson, Betty Kay Coker Smith, Larry Green, Jimmy Pinales, Katherine Amstrong Cameron and Mary North Gowan.

The Emhouse 53rd School Reunion will be held May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Taylorosa Event Center on West Hwy. 22 and FM 744 in Corsicana.

Navarro County Treasurer Frank Hull was notified of his nomination for Outstanding County Treasurer by the County Treasurer's Association of Texas (CTAT) Chairman of the Nomination Committee, Donna Kelly, Erath County Treasurer. The winner is determined by a vote of the 250 membership in May. Only five are nominated each year.

The Spring Hill Cemetery Association will have its Annual Meeting at 2:30 p.m. Sunday May 5, 2013, after the Matthews Family Reunion, at the First Baptist Church in Dawson Family Life Center which will be followed by a visit to the Cemetery. In the Tree House: The ‘Weirdo’ in the airport
Another Daviss adventure is under our belts. Our travel and airport experience went fairly smoothly considering we were travelling with three boys, four suitcases, a stroller and two car seats. But we did make it through everything unscathed, and returned safely.
