A low-cost equine vaccination clinic, sponsored by the Navarro County Animals at Risk Foundation, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Beck Animal Hospital, 2508 W. Second Ave. Cost of vaccinations will be: coggins, $15; West Nile, $25; VEWT/Rhino, $32.50; and rabies, $12.50. Farrier service to be provided by John Mulloy, graduate of Texas Horseshoeing School, for trims at $30 per horse. Angels of Corsicana, a troop support group, will meet at 9 a.m. at 1020 N. Business 45 to pack for the troops. Everyone’s help is needed. If you have items to donate, you can drop them off at the American Legion Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., after 2 p.m. daily. In February, 20 boxes were packed and mailed to the troops. Coyote Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force will meet at the Tucker Hardgrave Memorial Hangar at the Corsicana Municipal Airport. Staff meeting will be at 10 a.m. with general meeting to follow. Navarro County Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. in the Nancy Roberts Meeting Room at the Corsicana Public Library, 100 N. 12th St. The speaker will be Col. Arthur S. Loughry, U.S. Marine Corps, retired. His family history includes Revolutionary War soldiers and Boston Tea Party participants. Family members have participated in every U.S. war from the French and Indian War to Vietnam. He will share experiences and hints for successful research. He will bring examples of documents, photos, etc. and other items to reflect his research techniques and results. Members are encouraged to attend and bring a guest, and the general public is welcome as well.



Big C Jamboree will be held at 7 p.m. at Martin’s Music Hall, 201 S. Beaton St. The house band includes Chuck Wiginton, Zanada Tally Schoppert, Joe Honea, Jody Thomas, Ron Sikes, and Bobby Fluker, who will also be the emcee. Blooming Grove Friends of Youth will have a fund-raiser at 6:30 p.m. at the Blooming Grove High School cafeteria. Tickets are $5 each. Menu will be baked beans and cornbread. Baskets, made by members, will be auctioned off. Proceeds will benefit both Blooming Grove FFA and 4-H.



Barry Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at Barry Baptist Church. The speaker will be Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Vicki Gray. Light refreshments will be served.

Pickett Riding Club, 0049 County Line Road, Streetman, will have its playday series the first and third Saturdays of the month in March through July. Events will be at 2 p.m. in March through May and at 6 p.m. in June and July. Cost will be $4 for events, $2 for exhibitions, and $20 for membership. Divisions will be 6 and under, 7 to 9, 10 to 12, and 18 and over. There will be cloverleaf and straightaway barrels, flag and speed race, potato race, poles, keyhole, and free 6 and under flag race. Second Ave. Costs will be: rabies, $7; dogs — DHLPP, $16; cats — FVRCCP, $10, and feline leukemia, $16; deworming — roundworm, $5, and tapeworm $10; heartworm test, $25; and feline leukemia test, $25. Hubbard Chamber of Commerce will have its annual banquet at 6 p.m. at the Haralson Family Life Center, 207 N.W. Second St., Hubbard. The theme will be “On the Chisholm Trail” and western attire will be appropriate for the banquet. The keynote speaker will be Richard C. Linnartz, a native of Corsicana who currently lives in Fort Worth. An expert on the history of the Chisholm and Western Trails, he is working with Congress to secure approval for those trails to be designated as National Historic Trails. Angie Krick will be at the piano for you listening pleasure and Country Kitchen will cater the roast beef dinner. When Are We Going Home Ministry will have a concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Fullerton-Garitty Park, weather permitting. The concert will feature Jason Sweet Band, My Drive Home, and All Things New. Ride for the Cure Motorcycle Rodeo will be held at the Reunion Grounds in Fairfield. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. for the fun run. First bike out will be at 10 a.m. and last bike in will be at 3 p.m. Cash prizes for best hand and worst hand. Festivities start at 10 a.m. with bike games, and a show and shine bike show.     Texas Slabs’ jerky has issued a voluntary recall notice, effective Friday, according to proprietor Scott McGinty.
    The company makes flavored beef jerky and is headquartered out of Mansfield. Some of the jerky was distributed in Corsicana in January.
