AUSTIN - After an evacuation of all campus buildings ordered Friday morning at the University of Texas at Austin main campus due to a bomb threat, authorities have given the OK to return to campus builidings, but have cancelled classes for the rest of the day.
A caller reportedly with a Middle Eastern voice claiming to represent al-Qaida phoned in the threat ot the university Friday morning, claiming bombs placed on the campus would explode at 10 a.m.
An evacuation of all buldings was ordered by law enforcement checked buildings for explosives.
Shortly before noon, UT gave the go-ahead for students and faculty to return to buildings, but announced all remaining Friday classes were cancelled, and all other activities would resume at 5 p.m. Friday.
