Two Doors Down will celebrate a 100th “birthday” party for the building at 106 W. Sixth Ave. in downtown Corsicana from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the coffee shop. The event will feature cupcakes and coffee, live music and dancing on the street outside. Sixth Avenue will be closed off on that block for the event. The party is open to the public.

The City of Frost and the 125th anniversary committee will hold a fund raising event on Feb. 26, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Frost ISD cafeteria. A spaghetti meal will be available for a minimum donation of $7 per plate. An auction sponsored by the Frost 125th committee to raise money for upcoming projects will follow the candidates. Leo Club “Support our Troops” Dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., drive through or eat in at the United Christian Fellowship. For only $7, Chicken Surprise dinner with rice, green beans, garlic toast and dessert will be served. The Angels of Corsicana, in partnership with the Leo Club, will instruct the Leo’s on how to prepare dinner for a large group. The Angels of Corsicana send monthly care packages to our U.S. troops overseas. Donations of money or white tube socks will be accepted. This fundraiser will benefit the monthly care packages to our soldiers.

The Corsicana Children’s Company of the Warehouse Living Arts Center will present the entertaining family musical, “Miss Nelson is Missing!” for four performances. Dates and show times are Wednesday, Feb. 29 and Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. Directed by Frances Seidensticker Dodds and C. David Hill, this wonderful children’s favorite will entertain audiences of all ages. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $6 for students and $5 for kids 12 and under. Reserved seating tickets may be purchased at the box office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday. The Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Fire Station. The speaker will be Chief Deputy Sheriff Mike Cox and Captain Elmer Tanner. Both officers are candidates for Navarro County Sheriff. All candidates for other offices are welcome and will be given an opportunity to say a few words about themselves and the office they are running for. Everyone is welcome. American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Cars of Navarro County will hold a Bark for Life Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bunert Park. There will be cars, rods, motorcycles, as well as a chili cook-off, low-cost vaccines for dogs and cats, Coggins vaccines for horses, food vendors, games, prizes and a Dog Walk.

Navarro Regional Hospital Senior Circle will hold the last in a three part series about Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The program will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Navarro Regional Hospital Dining Room, and Kimberly Knight of the Greater Dallas Alzheimer’s Organization will be the speaker. Know the 10 signs: Early Detection Matters, will be the topic of this program. Learn the warning signs that may be symptoms of Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. Former players reunite to pay tribute to Woodcock

Don Woodcock has both — but he has something else to show for a big portion of his life.
On Saturday, a large group of women gathered at the IOOF Special Event Center, and they ranged in age from late 20s to mid-40s. Their common denominator?
All had played softball under the coaching and tutelage of Don Woodcock at a point in their lives. -
Early voting enters second week
As of Monday afternoon, 1,452 people had cast ballots in the county, state and national primary elections going on now in the basement of the Navarro County Courthouse, according to Elections Administrator Danda Parker.
Early voting hours are 8 to 5 p.m. for the rest of the week, ending at 5 p.m. Friday. Election day is May 29. -
