Two hurt in four-wheeler accident

RICE — Two people were reported injured Saturday in a four-wheeler accident near Rice.

Chief Deputy Mike Cox of the Navarro County Sheriff's Department said the incident took place near NECR 1030 shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Cox said dispatch logs indicate that one person was taken from the scene by air ambulance, and a second by ground ambulance.

Those hurt were reported to be an adult male and a small child.

Cox did not have the names of those involved, or the extent of their injuries Sunday evening.

Bowie School involves all in ACS Recess Relay
For the third straight year, Bowie students and faculty have “Teamed Up to Fight Cancer” — and each team was armed with a catchy name, a sports theme, and its own banner and sporty accessories. Bowie Elementary School is an important part of the success of American Cancer Society’s Navarro County Relay for Life. This year, they raised $4,100.52 for cancer research, bringing their three-year total to over $15,000.
