Corsicana Noon Lions Club

    At a recent weekly meeting of the Corsicana Noon Lions Club, Lion Eddie Hambrick was presented with a pin for sponsoring four members in 2008-2009. This pin was given by John Nelson, Lion second vice president.

    Hambrick has been a member of the Lions Club for 25 years. The past 14 years have been with the Corsicana Noon Lions Club. Before that he was a member of the Ennis Lions Club. Hambrick has served as vice president, president, tail twister, membership chairman, served on the board of directors for Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, was cochairman of the Paul Bennett Golf Tournament, and has participated in numerous fund-raising events.



Corsicana Newcomers Club

    Corsicana Newcomers Club meeting will be March 25 at Kinsloe House, 618 W. Third Ave. Social time will be 11 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be $12. Speaker will be Lee McCleary, Corsicana/Navarro County economic development director. He will give a talk on future plans for the county.

    Roadrunners will go to Waco March 18. They will meet at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church parking lot, across from H-E-B, and should return at 4 p.m. They will shop and have lunch. If you would like to go, call Peggy Dixson at (903) 874-8316 so she can set up carpooling.

    Corsicana Newcomers Club has many fun activities planned for this year. For more information about the club, call Jane Sanders at (903) 874-0808.

Woman’s Club House Association

    Wayne Frost, a native of Corsicana, will be the featured speaker for the program luncheon at Kinsloe House on March 24. Frost will present a slide show titled “My Travels.” His pictures of Canada and Alaska promise to be a beautiful and entertaining program. 

    The auditing committee, chaired by Brenda Stubbs, will host this program. Members of the committee are Mellie Howard, Gelene Simpson, Pearl Skewes, Jo Skews, Christine Williams and Judy Willis.

    Members are urged to make reservations for themselves and their guests by noon March 22 by calling (903) 874-5791. No cancellations will be accepted after this time.

    Don’t forget the next Kinsloe House First Sunday Lunch on April 4. Reservations can be made for 11 a.m. or noon. Enjoy a delicious lunch with a choice of entrees in a beautiful setting while you listen to Michael Hanna’s relaxing background music. For reservations or more details, call (903) 874-5791.
