Kalman Jay Shwarts, 65, was found dead Friday afternoon in his home on Mills Place in Corsicana.
He was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Vicki Gray. She has ordered an autopsy.
Shwarts had told his medical staff at Enviva Health Services that he felt ill and had gone home, Gray said.
Corsicana Police Chief Randy Bratton said they had responded to an unattended death on Mills Place.
“It does not appear to be suspicious,” he said.
Shwarts, a former emergency room doctor, has been practicing in Corsicana for more than 30 years. Shwarts has operated the health clinic on West Seventh Avenue since 1997.
An autopsy report can take up to six weeks to complete, Gray said.
