An woman trying to cross the street was struck by a pickup truck Wednesday evening on West Seventh Avenue near 34th Street.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of West Seventh Avenue, just west of 34th Street.
The woman was identified in a police report of the accident as Farida Afzal, 51, of Corsicana. She was reported by police to be alert and responsive, and her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening at the accident scene. She was transported by air ambulance to a Dallas hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck, J.B. Humbert Jr., 77, of Corsicana, was not hurt.
A Corsicana Police office discovered the accident while on routine patrol in the area.
According to the accident report, Afzal was attempting to cross the highway about 60 feet from a marked crosswalk controlled by a signal light.
Humbert was not cited in the accident.
