From reports released by the Navarro County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009:
• Deputy Casey Gaston responded to a report of criminal mischief over $20/under $500 on FM 85 in Chatfield.
• Deputy Jeff Harbuck responded to a report of burglary of a habitation in the 6000 block of South Interstate 45.
• Deputy Gary Lane responded to a report of burglary of a habitation in the 700 block of Elm Flatt Road in Powell.
• Deputy Casey Gaston responded to a report of violation of a protective order in the 500 block of Jimlot Drive in Kerens.
• Sgt. Ricky Hightower made an arrest for no drivers license and no insurance at FM 2555 and SWCR 1040.

Tornadoes threaten Dallas; no reports of damage
A series of tornadoes spawned by the remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine are menacing the Dallas area but there are no immediate reports of damage.

At least two people died as the remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine caused flooding in central and north Texas, submerging much of the city of Arlington under water.
