Corsicana Police Department

• Burglars used force to break into a home Tuesday in the 600 block of East Second Ave., according to Corsicana Police reports.

• A vehicle was stolen over the weekend from a home in the 900 block of North Commerce St.

• A person was accused of putting sugar in a car’s gas tank between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday while it was parked in the 1800 block of South Business 45. The woman reporting the problem said the suspect has been harassing her on the telephone, also.

• A woman reported to police that her wallet was stolen from her purse between 5:45 and 6 p.m. Thursday, either while she was in HEB, the 200 block of South 15th, or at Navarro College, 3200 block of West Seventh Avenue.

• A detached garage was burglarized Monday in the 700 block of East Fourth Ave.

• In a dispute between a supervisor and an employee, a woman reported that she was cussed out around 3:20 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of East Seventh Ave.

• A person was arrested for trying to steal Thursday from Walmart, 3800 block of West Seventh Ave.

• A woman reported being threatened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of G.W. Jackson Ave.

• A business was burglarized at 4 p.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of West Seventh Ave.

• Possession of marijuana under two ounces resulted in an arrest around 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of West Collin.

• A burglary took place either Friday night or Saturday morning in the 1100 block of North Beaton. Two string trimmers were stolen from a shed.

• Another home burglary was reported Saturday in the 600 block of East 14th Ave.

• A woman reported that as she was driving down the road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday that someone threw eggs at her car from another car.

• On Sunday at 4 a.m. a man called to say that four unknown guys had beaten him up and stolen his stuff “somewhere in the downtown area” the night before.

The victim reported that four unknown men took his phone, a small amount of cash and an IPod, by force, somewhere in the downtown area. He made his report from Navarro Regional Hospital, where he had gone for treatment for a punch in the face and kick to the hips.

• Three cars were damaged and one had its stereo stolen Sunday afternoon while the cars were parked in the 800 block of South 15th Street.

• A home was burglarized Monday evening in the 1000 block of Northwood.

• A “known trailer” was stolen from a business on May 18 in the 1200 block of North Business 45.

• Thieves stole an air conditioner from a business in the 4500 block of West State Highway 31, it was reported late last week. The value of the machine was set at $1,500.



Kerens Police Department

A 21-year-old Kerens man who pleaded guilty for criminal solicitation of a minor has been re-arrested for alleged sexual assault of a minor. Kerens police believe the victim came forward after his plea was published in the local media. Sgt. Roy Ivey and Officer Monteagudo worked the case, and the victim was interviewed by experts at the Child Advocates of Navarro County. The case was then handed to the district attorney’s office, which presented it to the grand jury. Pat Faulk was indicted, and re-arrested when he went for his probation visit on May 25. Bond was set at $75,000, and he was released on May 27.



Navarro County Sheriff’s Office

• A blue compressor, a yellow DeWalt table saw, a Dell laptop computer (missing two keys), a check and some cash were stolen from a home near Corsicana Thursday.

• A tan 4-wheeler worth $4,000 was stolen from a Kerens address last Thursday.

• A beige couch, Sanyo TV, a white Emerson microwave, and about 25-feet of copper wiring were stolen from a house on FM 1126 last week.

  • Early voting enters second week

    As of Monday afternoon, 1,452 people had cast ballots in the county, state and national primary elections going on now in the basement of the Navarro County Courthouse, according to Elections Administrator Danda Parker.
    Early voting hours are 8 to 5 p.m. for the rest of the week, ending at 5 p.m. Friday. Election day is May 29.

    Organizers of the Corsicana/Navarro County Clean Up Day scheduled for June 2 have advised the Daily Sun of new hours for the event.

    The countywide Clean Up Day is being held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, not until 2 p.m. as previously announced.
