Corsicana —
If your plan is to eat out one night during the week, aim for Tuesday at La Pradera, where the server may just be familiar.
Local county officials, city officials, ministers, college deans and even your veterinarian may be on staff to wait your table, all for tips that will go to the Corsicana Residential Treatment Center. From 11 a.m. to closing, local celebrities will be joined by employees of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department in serving tables with a smile.
“Your tips will go to the Community Resource Council for the many events that the council provides for the youth throughout the year,” said Gary Colburn of the council.
Special music will be provided by Steve Colburn from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Eleventh Annual Celebrith Wait waiters and waitresses include Navarro College President Dr. Richard Sanchez, as well as deans Sheri Short and Carol Hanes, and NC Matt Miller; Ministers Dr. Danny Reeves, Dr. Rick Lamb, Father Ed Monk and Sam Dilbeck; county commissioners James Olsen, Butch Warren, Dick Martin and Jason Grant, County Judge H.M. Daveport, District Judge James Lagomarsino, Tax Collector Russell Hudson, District Clerk Joshua Tackett and District Attorney Lowell Thompson; Corsicana Mayor Chuck McClanahan and Police Chief Randy Bratton; former CISD athletic director Gene Bullard; Dr. Scott Barham; Navarro Regional Hospital CEO Xavier Villareal; actor/singer Todd Jones; Dawson official Walter Jameson; and Wortham official Kelly Butler, as well as others.
The money goes to pay for birthday cakes and Christmas gifts for the students and larger projects, such as repairing the swimming pool at the facility. Some money also goes towards helping defray travel costs for parents who can’t otherwise afford to come visit their sons.

City to consider rules for airport, swear in new attorney
The Corsicana City Council will swear in the new city attorney, and consider requests for money from local charities when the group meets in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers of the Government Center, 200 N. 12th St. The new city attorney will be Kerri Anderson Donica. She ran unopposed for the position, along with Municipal Judge Mike Russell.

The Corsicana ISD Board of Trustees will consider selecting an architectural firm for the new middle school when the group meets in regular session at 6 p.m. Monday, 601 North 13th Street.

A former plumbing supply shop that has since become nothing more than one wall and one partial wall, is going to become the latest city park in Corsicana.

People who were missing in the wake of the destructive tornadoes in North Texas have been found safe, officials said Friday, but they didn't indicate when residents of one hard-hit neighborhood will be allowed to return to survey damage to their homes.

Police department open house Tuesday
The renovation of the Corsicana Police Department got a bit more involved than it was originally intended to. An error with some concrete resulted in water flooding city hall, and forcing replacement of carpeting and flooring. As well, the renovations quickly led to renovations of the municipal court, as well.
