9/11 Memorial Service to be held Tuesday

Corsicana — The Corsicana Ministerial Allliance is sponsoring a community 9/11 memorial service Tuesday evening at Trinity Baptist Church, 1200 N. 13th Steet. Beginning at 6:50 p.m. there will be singing led by Phil Moore, Minister of Music at Northside Baptist Church. The singing will be a combination of priase songs, hymns, and patriotic music. Special music will also be shared by Beverly Russell and Norma Scott. The pianist for the evening will be Pam Crawford. In addition to the singing, there will be pledges to the American and Christian flags. Prayers will be offered for our national, state, and local officials.

Bro. Dairy Johnson, president of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, will bring the message for the evening. The purpose of this service is to focus on remembering the lives lost and their families, those who had a part in rescuing and helping the injured during the terrorist attack on American soil on 9/11/2001, and our military.

This service is open to all who would like to come together for a memorial service on the anniversary of that horrible day. A special invitation is given to all veterans, active military, local officials, as well as members of our police, fire, and sheriff departments.

Following the service there will be a reception in the fellowship hall.

    The Corsicana City Council will swear in the new city attorney, and consider requests for money from local charities when the group meets in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers of the Government Center, 200 N. 12th St. The new city attorney will be Kerri Anderson Donica. She ran unopposed for the position, along with Municipal Judge Mike Russell.
