An early morning fire destroyed a home Monday on SECR 3060.
The home belonging to David and Terri Richter was well engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived at the scene around 8 a.m. Monday.
Crews from several volunteer fire departments and the Corsicana Fire Department battled the blaze for over an hour.
The home and its contents were a total loss, and a collection effort has started to help get the family back on their feet. Crews remained at the scene for several hours extinguishing hot spots. Representatives of the American Red Cross came to the scene to assist, and the Navarro County Sheriff’s Department provided traffic control at the scene.
Donations of clothing and other articles may be taken to the Grace Community Church in downtown Corsicana Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Clothing sizes needed for the family are women's 14 pant & large shirts; men's 38 pants and XL shirts; teen girl 10 pants and medium shirts; Boys pants 32 X 32 and medium shirts; girl pants size 5 and small shirts; and girl 18 to 24 months.
