Corsicana — Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 North Benton Street will celebrate the 7th Pastoral Anniversary for their Pastor and Wife, David E. Wilson and Minister Sharron D. Wilson. The theme for the occasion is “Through It All-God Is Able” from the scripture text I Peter 5:10-11. Pre-anniversary service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011, with the spoken word brought by Pastor Clyde Chambers of the Thirteenth Avenue Christian Church. Service will continue on Sunday, June 26, 2011, with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and Worship Service at 11 a.m. with guest Ministers Carl and Brenda Crenshaw. The Anniversary hour will begin at 3 p.m. with guest churches, Macedonia Baptist Church, Johnson Memorial COGIC, Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church, Church Of The Living God of Malakoff, and Liberty Tabernacle of God. The spoken word will be brought Pastor Erma J. Waites. Everyone is cordially invited to worship with them in this service as they honor their pastor for their loyal and faithful commitment to God and the Love Chapel Church.





The New Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church Family, located at 1808 W. 10th Avenue in Corsicana, is proud to announce the fourth appreciation service for assistant pastor Rev. M. L. Green and his lovely wife, Trina. Service will be Sunday June 26, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. Host pastor is Rev. D. R. Watson. The guest church will be the New Bethel Baptist Church of Kerens, Texas and Pastor E. Betts will be the messenger.

Assistant Pastor Green begin his Christian journey in ministry in the later part 2003, at the New Cornerstone Church. His father in the ministry, Pastor Watson announced the Rev. Green calling allowed the opportunity to exercise his gift. The Rev. Green has proudly stood to proclaim the gospel, in season and out of season. In his day to day life, he is a man of few words, but when he stands behind the sacred desk, there is a transformation and a bolder Marcus Green appears.

Standing boldly aside him is the love of his life, his beautiful wife Trina. She also is a devoted member of the New Cornerstone Family, where she serves as the president of the choir, and was at one instrumental  in organizing the New Cornerstone’s  Praise in Motion Ministry. New Cornerstone

  Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Avenue, will hold its Annual Youth Day Service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2011. Special guests will be God’s Holy Temple COGIC, Corsicana, and its pastor, Eric Grant Sr. will bring the message. Captains for this year’s service will be Jazzton Williams and Michaela Williams; Brian “BT” Tolliver and Chris Morgan; Tamia Smith and Tadrian Hervey; and Debria Shockley and Vanessa Williams. All are welcome to come and see the youth in action. Refreshments will be served after the service. Sis. Annie Solomon and Sis. Shirley Colbert are Youth Directors, Minister Chasity Perkins is Youth Choir Director and Bishop John Baker is pastor.



   Church in the Park is having a celebration worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 26, honoring Bro. James Shugart’s 5th anniversary as pastor. The Church in the Park meets at 9 a.m. every Sunday at Fullerton-Garitty Park. Bring your lawn chair and come as you are. Everyone is welcome.



The S.P.O.T . Community Worship Center at 125 North Commerce in downtown Corsicana has Sunday morning worship at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday night Impact at 6:15 p.m., Bible study Wednesday night at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. For more information, call (903) 641-0807.



Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 West State Highway 22, invites everyone to join them at 10 a.m. each Sunday for worship. A Nursery is provided for infants through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children’s building for Children’s Church.  Monday nights at 7 p.m. is a Mounted Shooting; 7 p.m. each Wednesday is Bible Study and Youth Service. Barrel racing is held at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Everyone is welcome. On July 2, a Team Sortin’ will be held, Buckle Series, with books open at 5 p.m. and Sortin’ starting at 6 p.m. A steer riding school will be held July 24 and 25 for boys 11-14 years of age with a weight under 135 lbs. A Women’s Fellowship OUting will be held Aug. 26 and 27 to attend the Women of Faith Conference. Cost is $89 which includes lunch for two days.



Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will hold its fourth Sunday Night Fellowship Service in Streetman at Macedonia Baptist Church where the Rev. Joe and Mrs. Hubbard is the Pastor. Apostle Dan Layne, Pastor of Day Spring Fellowship will bring the spoken word. The Rev. Dairy G. Johnson Sr.  is President of the IDMA. The public is invited to come and worship with them.



The Women Of Glory Monthly Fellowship will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Liberty Tabernacle Of God, 2708 West 8th Avenue in Corsicana, where Erma J. Waites serves as Pastor. All women are given a special invitation to come and fellowship with them. Come as you are and see what God has for you. Minister Bobbie Jackson serves as president and Pastors David E. Wilson and Alvin E. Smith serve as advisors. Pastor Erma Waites serves as Founder.



Faith Baptist Church will have a multi-family garage sale on Friday, July 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, July 2, from 8 a.m. until noon. The sale will be held at the Baptist Student Ministry building, 3245 West Seventh Avenue, across from Navarro College. There will be hot dogs and cold drinks for sale. This is a multi-family garage sale with a lot of items to choose from. All are invited to attend Sunday School at 10 a.m., and worship service Sundays at 11 a.m. Come and worship with them in a cool and casual atmosphere and hear the world of the Lord. The church is located at 109 FM 2452, at the intersection of West State Highway 31 and Corbet Road.



Westside Baptist Church will have former interim pastor Bill E. Roe bringing the morning message on Sunday, June 26. He has pastored various churches since 1970, served as interim pastor on many occasions, worked for the Baptist General Convention of Texas from 1970 to 1981, served as Director of Missions for Cleburne from 1981 to 1986, and since 2004 has served as part-time Director of Missions for Bosque Association. Bro. Roe graduated from Wesleyan College with a B.S. degree, and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth with a Masters of Education degree. Bro. Roe will also be speaking at the Widows and Widowers banquet at noon. His wife, Nina, will be accompanying him. The public is invited to attend the morning worship hour at 11 a.m. Westside Baptist Church is located at 1522 North 24th Street in Corsicana.



Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2105 East Jones Avenue, is celebrating its annual Pastor-Aide Day at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 26.  The theme is “God made Pastors.” Guests will be Greater Love Outreach Church and Elder William Lewis, who will be bringing the spoken word. The Gospel Five and Sis. Hene’icia Jackson will do an instrumental solo. The public is invited to attend and bless Pastor Alfred Cox Jr.



Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Child Enrichment Program is having an Open House Carnival from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 26. There will be carnival rides, face painting, games and prizes. Tours of the school will be available, along with an opportunity to visit with teachers. The Child Enrichment Program offers a Christian curriculum, a weekly Chapel, nurturing qualified teachers, and is a state certified program. Flexible options include 3 or 5 days per week. Life in the Word Bible Church, 1408 North Beaton in Corsicana, will celebrate its 9th church anniversary at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 24. Special guest will be Pastors Tony and Sherry Watts and Bold Truth Ministries from Arlington. The theme is “Moving Forward” according to Joshua 1:1-9. All are welcome to come and participate in this great move of God.



Faith Temple Ministries, North Highway 75 in Fairfield, will conclude its in-house revival at 7 p.m. Friday, June 24. Also, at 4 p.m. Sunday, the Women’s Department II will have its annual Women in Red program, with guest speaker Minister Joyce Green and the Mt. Zion Church of Fairfield. St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2308 Bowie Drive in Corsicana, will have its 3rd annual musical, “Praising God in Song” at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25. All proceeds will go to the Gloria La’Shawn Gee Memorial Scholarship Fund at the United Christian Fellowship at Navarro College. Master of Ceremonies will be recording artist Minister Kenneth Mosley of Dallas. God Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ, located downtown Corsicana in the Home Center, invites all to “Friday Night Live” at 7 p.m. For the youth they are bringing back the YPWW, which is Young People Willing Workers , taught by Pastor Grant. The topic will be ministering to a fatherless generation; the theme: The tragedy of abuse, Romans 13: 8-10. Memory Verse: Love worketh no ill to his neighbor : therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (Romans 13:10 ) The Lesson Aim: The aim of the lesson is to highlight the tragedy of abuse in the home. Guest speaker for open mic will be 12-year-old Bro.     Corsicana firefighters on the scene of a major fire at the new home of Unity Baptist Church. The call came in shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Smoke could be seen coming out of the roof at several points in the structure. Multiple fire units are on the scene. The church is located at the corner of South 30th St. and West Sixth Ave. More details will be posted as they become available.

    As of Monday afternoon, 1,452 people had cast ballots in the county, state and national primary elections going on now in the basement of the Navarro County Courthouse, according to Elections Administrator Danda Parker.
    Early voting hours are 8 to 5 p.m. for the rest of the week, ending at 5 p.m. Friday. Election day is May 29.
