VOICE will have its second annual Kerens summer fund-raiser at 6:30 p.m. at the Kerens Alumni Center. This year will be “Yee Haw,” a tribute to local talent. This will be a Kerens-version of the old variety television program “Hee Haw.” Many local talents will be featured including a surprise guest who will impersonate a very special member of the “Hee Haw” cast. July 4

Corsicana Rotary Freedom Festival and 2008 Duck Dash will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Park. The entire community is invited to come to this Fourth of July celebration. Bring your lawn chair and come for an evening of family fun. For more information, call Child Advocates at (903) 872-3772.



The 13th annual Kerens Old-Fashioned Fourth, sponsored by the Kerens Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held in downtown Kerens beginning at 6 p.m. Bring your decorated bike, trike, pet (on a leash), baby stroller, scooter, roller skates (use your imagination) and meet in front of the Kerens Chamber of Commerce for the parade. There will be a cake walk, train rides, horseshoe contest, washer pitching contest, bounce slide, cow plop bingo, raffles, live music, and lots more fun and games. Hot dog dinner will be $3, watermelon slices will be $1, and homemade ice cream will be $1. Fireworks will be at the baseball field after dark.
