Corsicana Police Department
• Officer Jeran Garner responded to a Class C assault, family violence, call in the 3000 block of West Highway 22.
• Officer Jeran Garner responded to a theft over $50 under $200 and Class A assault call in the 3800 block of West Seventh Avenue.
• Officer Kenneth Darby took a report from a walk-in at police headquarters concerning a theft over $50 under $500.
• Officer Scott Dechaume responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle call in the 800 block of North 37th Street.
• Officer Michael Dockery responded to a burglary of a building call in the 500 block of Lexington Drive.
• Officer Michael Dockery responded to a found property call in the 800 block of North 37th Street.
• Officer Scott Dechaume responded to a criminal mischief call in the 3300 block of West Seventh Avenue.
• Officer Sean Eggleston responded to a dog bite call in the 4700 block of West Highway 31.
• Officer Jimmie Hensley responded to a Class B criminal mischief call in the 100 block of East Thompson Street.
Navarro County Sheriff’s Department
• Sgt. Charles Statham issued a citation for disorderly conduct, vulgar language, in the 700 block of NECR 0100 near Corsicana.
• Deputy James Murray responded to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft over $1,500 under $20,000 call in the 6400 block of West Highway 31 near Corsicana.
• Deputy Fredia Wafer responded to a fraudulent use/possession of identifying information call in the 5200 block of FM 1603 near Chatfield.
• Deputy Scott Wiley responded to a theft over $500 under $1,500 call in the 7200 block of South I-45 near Corsicana.
• Deputy Scott Wiley responded to a theft over $500 under $1,500 call on FM 1393 near Kerens.
• Deputy Scott Wiley responded to a theft over $500 under $1,500 call in the 8500 block of NECR 1040 near Rice.
• Deputy Mike Wolver responded to a theft over $50 under $500 call in the 200 block of South Highway 309 in Kerens.
• Deputy Jeff Harbuck responded to a theft over $50 under $500 in the 200 block of Birdwell near Corsicana.
• Deputy Kris Matthews responded to an assault causing bodily injury, family violence, call on NWCR 4130 near Frost.
• Deputy Casey Gaston responded to an assault call in the 300 block of West Second Avenue in Corsicana.

Early voting
Early voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays Monday thru Friday May 14 through May 18, and May 21 through May 25, 2012, in the basement of the Navarro County Courthouse, 300 W. Third Ave., Corsicana.
Early voting will be held on the weekend from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday May 19, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, in the basement of the Navarro County Courthouse, 300 W. Third Ave., Corsicana. -
Commissioners to meet Tuesday
The Navarro County Commissioners Court is scheduled to meet in special session at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, in the county courtroom of the Navarro County Courthouse.
The meeting was moved from Monday, May 28, due to the Memorial Day holiday. -

Candidate Q&A: U.S. Representative, District 6
The race for District 6
After the redistricting conflicts that took nearly eight months and multiple lawsuits to resolve, a new congressional districts were carved out, but Navarro County remains in District 6 with incumbent Representative Joe Barton.
However, Barton is facing his toughest challenge to his seat in more than a decade. He has four Republican opponents in the primary, and four Democrats are also vying for the seat in that primary.
All the candidates in both parties were given the same questions and asked to submit their answers for Corsicana Daily Sun readers. These are the four responses we received.
