NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association) Chapter 1191 met at noon, Tuesday, July 8 in Waxahachie at Ryan’s Steakhouse.
The meeting was called to order by Chapter President, Dennis Armon. After the invocation and pledge to flag, program chairman Ralph Nelson introduced the speaker, Linda Needham, a staff member of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce. Her topic was about keeping cities clean. She made suggestions about things that can be done to get people involved. Volunteers are needed to help in a clean-up campaign that would include all citizens.
Following the program, a business meeting was held. Bob Kral, Chapter Membership chair, presented a beautiful plaque to Ralph and Jerrie Nelson, longtime members of NARFE Chapter 1191. The plaque was in appreciation of the many years of dedicated service, positions held, serving as delegates to National and State NARFE Conventions and hard work done on behalf of NARFE and especially Chapter 1191. Ralph is currently the Legislative Chair and produces the Chapter newsletter each quarter. Jerrie Nelson was not present to accept the award with her husband.
The next NARFE Chapter 1191 meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Corsicana at Sirloin Stockade.
