From Staff Reports
U.S. Postal Inspectors Monday issued a reward poster offering up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Daniel Gonzalez Rodriquez. Gonzalez Rodriquez is wanted by Corsicana Police on charges of failing to render aid in connection with the death of local mail carrier Donnie Evett.
Evett died from injuries suffered July 22 when an F-350 pickup truck hauling a trailer of lumber went through a red light and hit Evett’s mail truck at East First Avenue and Business 45. Gonzalez Rodriquez, who was driving the pickup truck, called the owner of the truck and informed him of the accident, then fled the scene. His current whereabouts are unknown.
“While I’m sure there was no intent to harm the letter carrier, Gonzalez Rodriquez ’s actions after the wreck are unconscionable,” said Fort Worth Division Postal Inspector Randall C. Till in a release issued to the media Monday. “Postal Inspectors will continue to assist (the) Corsicana Police Department in its attempts to apprehend him.”
Gonzalez Rodriquez is described as an Hispanic male, 25 years of age, approximately 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 4 inches tall, approximately 130 to 140 pounds, with close cut black hair, brown eyes and a thin mustache. Authorities added the man’s nose is obviously broken and concaved into face. He may seek employment as a concrete worker, the Postal Inspector’s release said.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Gonzalez Rodriquez is asked to call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service toll free at 1-877-876-2455, or the Corsicana Police Department at (903) 654-4902.
