Disaster Action Team (DAT) leaders are needed. The Corsicana branch of the American Red Cross is seeking experienced professionals to respond to local disasters. The branch is looking for individuals who have prior success in various aspects of management and/or have had success in leadership roles within the public and private sector. DAT meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at 701 W. Second Ave. Newcomers are welcome, and refreshments will be served. The branch is also looking for residents who can come and assist with client follow-up and data entry of current disaster cases. Family Service Association, 517 N. Commerce St., offers free clothing to those in need, utility and rent assistance, and help for those who cannot afford their prescription drugs. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to noon Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Donations of clothing and household items are gladly accepted during the hours that Family Service Association is open. For more information, call (903) 874-4971.



Nar-Anon meetings, to help families of drug abusers, are held at 7 p.m. Mondays at Navarro County Dream Center office building, 409 N. 12th St., across from the Navarro County Courthouse. Adult recovery program (substance abuse support group) meets at 7 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the Navarro County Dream Center house, 411 N. 12th St. For more information on any of these support groups, call (903) 641-0242.



Al-Anon meets at 2412 N. Beaton St., Corsicana, at 8 p.m. Thursdays and at 4 p.m. Sundays.



Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 11 a.m. Sundays and at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the annex building of Lakeside United Methodist Church, 515 Farm-to-Market Road 416, Streetman (St. Elmo community).



4-H Horse Project Drill Team meetings are held at 3 p.m. the second Sunday of every month at KWC Quarterhorse Ranch, 1381 County Road NE2120, Kerens. Practice for drill team is available at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call Carla at (903) 851-1361.



TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) No. 1693, a non-profit organization, meets from 10 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th St., Corsicana. Weigh-ins are from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Anyone interested in losing weight with a strong support system is welcome. A grief support luncheon is offered at noon on the first Wednesday of each month at the office of Hospice of Cedar Lake, 625 N. Main St. The lunch is potluck, so just bring a favorite dish. Anyone who has lost a loved one or friend is welcome to attend. For more information, call Hospice of Cedar Lake at (903) 874-2646.



A local support group for victims of domestic violence meets the first and third Monday of every month. For details, call (800) 283-8401 or (254) 749-4437.



If you know any children to age 21 who have physical, mental or emotional problems who are not receiving an education, no matter what the problem, nor its severity, the child is entitled to an education. In compliance with federal laws, Corsicana Independent School District offers a number of special programs for students with disabilities.
