Assistant Police Chief Ladena Baggett has been named the interim police chief for the Corsicana Police Department. The search continues for a permanent replacement for G.M. Cox, who recently announced his retirement.
The appointment came from city hall just before 11 a.m.
Cox has been the chief since 1993. A ceremony in his honor is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Palace Theatre.
