Corsicana Downtown R.O.S.E. Association meets at 6 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce, 120 N. 12th St.
Used adult-size baseball gloves and baseballs have been requested by Lance Cpl. Peter Seefeldt, son of Corsicana resident Ruth Neal. You may also donate new decks of playing cards. Seefeldt has been deployed with the 2nd Marine Division and is stationed in Iraq. You may drop off your donations of gloves, balls and cards at the Corsicana Daily Sun office.

A fund has been established to help with medical expenses for Cecil Easley Jr., who was injured in a motorcycle accident in June. Donations may be made to the Cecil Easley Jr. Special Account at Community National Bank and Trust, 321 N. 15th St., Corsicana, TX 75110.
Central Appraisal District holds its board meetings at 3 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at 111 E. First Ave.

Navarro County Reach to Recovery, a service offered free of charge, is a division of the American Cancer Society. Services provided include offering support by breast cancer survivors, literature, temporary breast prosthesis, wigs, and other support. The Salvation Army, 212 E. First Ave., is in need of diapers and formula for babies and infants. Also, when you clean out your closets and garages, The Salvation Army will accept your donations daily of gently used clothing, household items and furniture. Basic for Living classes for women of all ages are held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. every first and third Saturday of the month September through May in the fellowship hall of Griffin Chapel Church of God in Christ, 709 E. 12th Ave. Topics will include beginners sewing, food and nutrition, communication classes, defensive driving, money management and other topics.
