Ross promoted

Kylie B. Ross was promoted to manager of private client services at Bernstein Global Wealth Management (NYC) in June 2008 and was named assistant vice president in October 2008.

Ross began her career with Bernstein in the New York office in 2004 as an administrative assistant, and was promoted to private client associate in May 2005.

Ross moved to California in October 2005 to help open the new San Diego office, working as a senior associate from October 2006 until her move back to New York in the summer of 2008.

Ross graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2002 with a B.B.A. degree in accounting. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny K. Ross and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy T. Ross, all of Corsicana, and the late Mark Keith and the late Sybile Keith.



Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas

The Department of Labor has announced that 240,000 jobs were cut across the country in October and that national unemployment has increased to 6.5 percent. Even with the volatility in the economy, North Texas has continued to have a lower unemployment rate and fewer job cuts than the nation and, to date, has shown more economic strength and resilience than most other states.

Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas has recently experienced only a slight increase in customers seeking assistance. However, it will continue to monitor the economy and will respond accordingly if the downturn begins to have a greater impact in North Texas. There are 15 workforce centers serving the North Central Texas region providing job search assistance, a resource library, and various workshops to help job seekers find employment.

“We are very aware of the economic changes nationwide, as well as here in North Texas, and we stand ready to respond to the needs of the region,” said David Setzer, director of Workforce.

In partnership with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas is one of 28 local workforce boards throughout the state. With a budget of more than $50 million, the board serves Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell and Wise counties. The primary goal of the workforce board is to meet the needs of Texas employers through locally designed, market-driven workforce development initiatives and services. All employers, workers, and job seekers are eligible to take advantage of these services.
