Nov. 22-23

Warehouse Living Arts Center Theatre will present “Guys and Dolls,” the final show of the 2008 season, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Palace Theatre, 112 W. Sixth Ave. “Guys and Dolls” is known as one of America’s best-loved musical comedies. Tickets are available at the door. For more information, call (903) 872-5421.



Nov. 22

Navarro County Relay for Life kickoff will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in front of Two Doors Down and Black Jack McCanless Steak House, prior to the Warehouse Theatre production of “Guys and Dolls” at the Palace Theatre. There will be lots of cancer information, opportunities for people to make donations (tax deducible), and to sign up teams and survivors for the relay event which will be held May 15 at the YMCA grounds.



Calico Dance Officers will have a Parents Night Out from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Corsicana High School dance studio. Children ages 2 to 16 are welcome, but ages 14 and over are limited to girls trying out for Calicos. For $25 per child, and $10 for each sibling, children will receive a pizza dinner, movie, popcorn and a special dance clinic. Early registration is suggested, since space is limited. Proceeds will go to purchase airline tickets for the dance officers trip to the Florida halftime performance New Year’s Day. For more information, call (903) 851-6005.



Corsicana High School Choir will have a garage sale fund-raiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at United Christian Fellowship, 3301 W. Seventh Ave. (across from Navarro College). Proceeds will go toward the choir’s spring break trip to New York.



RJ Production will have an open team sorting at the Navarro County Exposition Center. Practice will start at 11 a.m. with the event to start at noon.



Woodland Cemetery fund-raiser picnic will be held from noon to 5 p.m. You are invited to come and help clean up Woodland Cemetery. For more information, call (903) 874-2921 or (903) 875-4001.



Nov. 23

Heart of Texas Barrel Racing will have an exhibition at noon with the show from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Navarro County Exposition Center, State Highway 22, Corsicana. Free to the public. For more information, call Camille at (903) 872-5283.



Nov. 24

Emhouse Community Center will meet at 6:30 p.m. for a covered dish meal. Everyone is invited to attend.



Barry Masonic Lodge will have a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. All masons are invited.



Navarro College Forensics Club will present “The Great Bulldog Debate” at 8:30 p.m. in the Dawson Auditorium on the college campus, directly following the Navarro College jazz concert. This will be the first fund-raiser for the Forensics Club at Navarro College. The students are raising money for trips to debate competitions in the near future.



Nov. 25

Navarro Regional Hospital Auxiliary will have a bake sale in the hospital dining room beginning at 8 a.m. until sold out. Proceeds will benefit the Winona Stewart Scholarship Fund for Navarro College students going into a medical field.



Winkler Masonic Lodge will have a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. All masons are invited.

Central Texas Quarter Horse Association will hold a ride night for members only at 6:30 p.m. at the Navarro County Exposition Center, State Highway 22, Corsicana. For more information or how to become a member, call Steve at (903) 872-6267.



A bake sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Corsicana Collin Street Annex, 320 W. Collin St. (behind the library), sponsored by the Bunert Park Freedom Flag Committee. There will be cakes, pies, cobblers, peanut brittle, tea cakes, and other goodies.



Nov. 26

Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas will host a “Workforce Center Orientation” at 10 a.m. and a job search workshop on “Resume Preparation” at 10 a.m. at its office, 720 N. Beaton St. For more information, call (903) 874-8276.



Nov. 29

Hat Brand Rodeo will have bull rides, bare back, saddle bronc, tied downs, calf roping, break-away roping, barrel racing, open team roping, steer wrestling and chute dogging at the Navarro County Exposition Center, State Highway 22, Corsicana. Nov. 30

Through December

Corsicana Fire Department will accept new unwrapped toys from Dec. 1 through Christmas for its 23rd annual Christmas for Kids. The toys will be given to The Salvation Army for distribution. If so desired, financial donations will also be accepted to purchase toys for the children. Drop-off locations will be at the city’s four fire stations: 200 N. 13th St., 310 S. Second St., 2212 W. Corsicana Masonic Lodge will have a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. All masons are invited.



City of Blooming Grove will hold its monthly city council meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Blooming Grove City Hall, 200 S. Fordyce St.



Dec. 2

Corsicana Chapter 118, Order of Eastern Star, will hold a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Corsicana Masonic Lodge. A potluck supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Members are reminded to bring can goods to benefit the Navarro County Food Pantry and items for the House of Refuge. All area OES members are invited. When Are We Going Home Ministry will present the annual Cheryl Dunn concert at 6:45 p.m. at the Palace Theatre, 112 W. Sixth Ave. The pre-concert will be by The Way, Truth and Life Praise Team from Ennis followed by Glorybound. The concert will be free. There will be a silent auction to benefit the ministry in its efforts to help families who have children with medical challenges and special needs by building a retreat and therapeutic center in Navarro County which will include aquatic, equine, music, fitness and creative. Dunn, the 2003 and 2005 winner of the Canadian Country/Bluegrass Album of the Year, has been nominated three times for the Covenant Awards and four times for the Vibe Awards. Dec. 4

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Jean Hinkle, 404 Hinckley, Blooming Grove. The speakers will be retired sheriff deputies Jimmie Spencer and Bubba Jones. Refreshments will be served.



Dec. 6

Sons of American Legion will meet at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St. The Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 4 p.m. To attend the meetings, membership must be current. For more information, call after 2 p.m. to (903) 874-3938.





Dec. 8

Woodmen of the World Lodge 5 will have its meeting and catered Christmas party at 6 p.m. at Star Hall. All members, their families and guests are cordially invited. Because this is being catered, please RSVP by Nov. 21 by calling Trudy Howell at (903) 874-7050.



Dec. 9

Corsicana Emergency Corps, 416 S. 12th St., will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Monthly meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. For more information, call (903) 872-5072.



Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at Sirloin Stockade, 2508 W. Seventh Ave., Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28, 1961, and May 7, 1975, or in any duty location between Aug. 5, 1964, and May 7, 1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with application and dues. Members and guests are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.



Corsicana High School Choir will have a fund-raiser from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Bookstack, 1427 W. Second Ave. Memories by Melissa will be set up and taking pictures of children with Santa. Two 4-by-6 photos will be $15 with a portion of the profit going to the choir. Choir students will also be selling hot chocolate and cookies. Proceeds will go toward the choir’s spring break trip to New York.



Blooming Grove Masonic Lodge will be dark to join the Eureka Masonic Lodge.



Eureka Masonic Lodge will host the Blooming Grove Masonic Lodge for its stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. A meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. All masons are invited.



Dec. 9-18

VOICE will offer the Texas Youth Tobacco Awareness Program, a state-approved program for minors charged with attempted purchase, consumption, or possession of tobacco and is designed to the mandates of Texas law. VOICE staff is certified to facilitate this program. The class will be an eight-hour program divided into four two-hour sessions. This session will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 9, 11, 16 and 18. Participants are required to attend all sessions. Classes are $100 (cash only) for all sessions. All participants must pre-register. Dec. 10-11

Navarro Regional Hospital Auxiliary will have a “Books R Fun” sale in the hospital dining room beginning from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Winona Stewart Scholarship Fund for Navarro College students going into a medical field.



Dec. 11

Navarro College SBDC will sponsor a session on creating a business plan from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce, 120 N. 12th St. Cost of the workshop will be $20. Kerens Masonic Lodge will be dark.



A retirement reception will be held for Brenda Duncan and Darrell Raines from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Cook Center. You are invited to join the Navarro College family as these two longtime employees are wished well in their retirement.



Dec. 24
