Schafer named HR director
From Staff Reports
Jeff Schafer, a detective with the Corsicana Police Department, has been named the new head of human resources for the city. Schafer will begin his new duties on Dec. 3, according to City Manager Connie Standridge.
Standridge said Schafer applied for the job, and the city gives preference to internal candidates.
Schafer will replace Stephanie Carroll, whose resignation became effective Nov. 14. She left to become human resources coordinator at the Big Brown power plant in Fairfield.
It’s unclear if Schafer will also take on the duties of Civil Service Director, which was one of Carroll’s responsibilities. That will be up to the Civil Service Commission, Standridge said.
