Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Corsicana YMCA rear addition. Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Fire Station. James Olsen, Precinct 4 county commissioner, will be the speaker. The public is invited, and light refreshments will be served.

Corsicana Preservation Foundation will have its second annual fund-raiser Twilight Ball from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Halbert House. This year’s theme will be “April in Paris.” Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and champagne will be served. There will be music for dancing. The event will again be catered by chef Sharon Van Meter of Milestone Culinary Institute of Dallas. Several projects have been completed and more are scheduled for the new year. Recommendations for further projects would be welcomed. Tickets are $100 per person, which are tax deductible. Navarro County Animals at Risk Foundation will sponsor a low-cost pet vaccination clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. at Beck Animal Hospital, 2508 W. Second Ave. Prices for shots will be: rabies, $7; DHLPP, $16; FVRCCP, $10; feline leukemia, $16; deworm (Pyrantel), $5; and deworm (tapeworms), $10. Also offered will be: heartworm test, $25; and FELEUK/FIV test, $25. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier. Warehouse Living Arts Center’s Corsicana Children’s Company, 119 W. Sixth Ave., will hold auditions at 2 p.m. for “Cinderella,” adapted by Jerry Chase. VOICE will offer the Texas Youth Tobacco Awareness Program, a state-approved program for minors charged with attempted purchase, consumption, or possession of tobacco and is designed to the mandates of Texas law. VOICE staff is certified to facilitate this program. The class will be an eight-hour program divided into four two-hour sessions. This session will be from 4 to 6 p.m. April 21, 23, 28 and 30. The event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24 at the Navarro County Precinct 1 Barn. The facility is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of highway 31 and FM 2555. The program will begin at 7 am and conclude at 2 pm.
