Shopping center back on city agenda
The Corsicana City Council will consider rezoning a block off First Avenue to allow for construction of a small shopping center, when the group meets in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Government Center, 200 N. 12th St.

Humane Society fund-raiser set for Oct. 9
Paws will be the cause next month as the Humane Society of Navarro County begins its campaign to raise funds towards building a new animal shelter in Corsicana.

At a meeting of the Navarro County Conservatives Organization on Thursday, Navarro County commissioner candidates delivered their first pledges for the county ahead of campaigning beginning this weekend.

Tire disposal day scheduled
Navarro County and the City of Corsicana are partnering up once again to offer a Tire Disposal Day to local residents. The event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24 at the Navarro County Precinct 1 Barn. The facility is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of highway 31 and FM 2555. The program will begin at 7 am and conclude at 2 pm.
