CORSICANA - Supporters of a public vote on a bond to pay for a new animal shelter in Corsicana turned out in numbers Tuesday to speak at the Corsicana City Council meeting.

Twenty-six residents spoke in favor of allowing the public to vote on the proposed $2 million project. One resident suggested alternatives be explored to avoid a tax increase a bond would bring.

Since the item was not on the agenda, there was no action taken by the council. More on this story will post soon and appear in the Wednesday print edition of the Daily Sun.
